Shattered Union: The Second American Civil War, 1931
CRISIS COMMITTEE
On October 24, 1931, Communist rebels seized London. The Royal Family fled to Canada, and more importantly for President Hoover, His Majesty’s Government defaulted on its debt to America. This set off a series of events that caused the New York Stock Exchange to crash, abruptly ending the post-war dream that America had enjoyed for a decade.
In the aftermath of the First World War's conclusion in stalemate, the United States seemed to be rewarded for her non-intervention. While Europe burned in the flames of revolution and ethnic strife, America experienced an economic boom fueled by the billions in loans it had extended to both the Kaiserriech and the Allies. Across the South, the winds of secession blow once again, and in the East, the burgeoning Nipponese Empire eyes U.S. possessions in Asia.
In a desperate bid to save the Union, President Hoover has called a meeting of America’s most prominent politicians, generals, industrialists, and financiers. Your goals are simple: save the United States of America, uphold the Constitution, and stave off the red menace. The President has promised to implement, to the best of his ability, the decisions of this committee. Will the United States survive and continue to stand as a shining city upon a hill, or will it succumb to internal strife and the personal ambitions of the men called to save it?
