Cristina Rodriguez is a fourth-year public relations major on the public interest communications track with a minor in sociology and a certificate in international communication. She brings years of experience to the role of Sec-Gen, as this is her third year of SunMUN's secretariat. Cris joined the UF Model United Nations team during her freshman year after competing in the Puerto Rican circuit in middle school and the Florida circuit in high school. On the collegiate circuit, you're likely to find Cris at just about every conference, typically in her favorite committee type: a specialized GA.
Outside of Model UN, Cris dedicates her time to her second on-campus home, the UF Public Relations Department. She serves as President and Vice President of two public relations clubs, the Hispanic Public Relations Student Association (HPRSA) and the Public Interest Communications Student Association (PICSA). In the future, she hopes to work in nonprofit communications to amplify the work of changemakers across the globe. Cris spends her free time taking care of her 13 plants, reading fantasy and romance novels, and shuffling her tarot deck. Cris is beyond excited to leave her mark on SunMUN III. Third time's the charm!
Noelle Matthias (any/all) is so excited to be your Director General for this year’s iteration of SunMUN! Noelle is a senior at the University of Florida studying International Studies with a concentration in Latin America and the Caribbean with minors in Spanish and International Development and Humanitarian assistance. They have been competing with UF’s team since freshman year, wearing various hats within team leadership. Noelle has served as USG of Media Design for GatorMUN XX, director at GatorMUN XXI, SunMUN I, and SunMUN II in addition to serving as vice president of UFMUN’s team this past year. After an exhausting year of travel, Noelle is excited to focus her efforts on providing delegates and staff with an excellent SunMUN III experience. When she isn’t competing in a crisis or masterminding the internal affairs of SunMUN III, Noelle can be found longboarding, stress cleaning, or working at Student Rec and Fitness. They are counting down the days till SunMUN this February and cannot wait to see you there.
Alonzo Rojas is a second-year Electrical Engineering major with a minor in Statistics(?), and is beyond excited to be the Chief of Staff for this year’s iteration of SunMUN! He was born in South Florida but mostly grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina, and has competed in Model UN for six years across the high school and collegiate circuit, including staffing at GatorMUN XXI and SunMUN II, and directing at this year’s GatorMUN.
Outside of MUN, Alonzo is involved in various engineering clubs on campus as well as the Venezuelan Student Association. For fun, you’ll find him watching the Miami Heat struggle to win regular season games, losing ranked games on R6, and advocating for short kings everywhere. He can’t wait to bring SunMUN III to its full potential and have a great time in Orlando!
Landon McIntosh is a third-year computer science student pursuing a minor in economics and certificates in engineering leadership and artificial intelligence at the University of Florida. This is his third year staffing SunMUN, with previous experience staffing committees, directing a committee, and as USG of Media and Design. Beyond SunMUN, Landon is a student researcher with UF’s Gator AI club, secretary of Fluidity, and involved with a few other organizations. Landon is passionate about Gator football and enjoys watching movies, hiking, exploring Gainesville, and Microsoft excel.
Douglas Plummer is your Director of Finance for SunMUN III; he is a third-year Electrical Engineering major with a minor in Philosophy. He has been doing MUN all throughout his time in high school and began his involvement with UF’s delegation last year. He has experience from his time staffing last year’s SunMUN and GatorMUN, our high-school level conference, along with his work with our organization’s finance committee.
Outside of MUN, you can find him either withering away trying to complete a lab or pondering about the efficacy of the social contract as a form of governance. For fun he loves to revel in art whether it be film, fashion, music production or reading (feminist literature books specifically… 6’5 male pisces btw). He is ecstatic to be on the SunMUN III team and even more ecstatic to have you join us in February!
Naveen Siddiqui is a third-year student majoring in Mathematics, Statistics, and Economics with a minor in Mandarin Chinese at the University of Florida. She has competed on the college circuit since her freshman year, co-chaired conferences at UF, and traveled with the UF MUN team as far as Canada.
Naveen spent all of her second-year studying abroad in England at the University of Manchester, and studied Portuguese in Rio de Janeiro in the summer with the Critical Language Scholarship, making it her 5th language! She has a passion for international economic affairs, loves traveling and learning new languages. Beyond SunMUN, Naveen is a College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Ambassador, International Scholar, and an involved member of Islam on Campus. She is so excited to welcome you all in Orlando this February!
Kayla Bello (she/her) is a second-year Public Health and Economics major, looking to get involved in public sector consulting. She joined the UF team her freshman year after competing at the UF high school tournament her senior year. Now, she is one of the traveling team's GA delegates, where she has successfully attended numerous conferences. She brings additional experience from directing a committee at the high school conference GatorMUN and staffing a SUNMUN committee last year.
Outside of MUN, she is involved in the Hispanic Student Association as a director in the Member Leadership Program, as well as the Bob Graham Center for Public Service where she is an organizer for the Future of Florida Summit. In the future she hopes to do work for unrepresented communities, creating systematic change for future generations. Kayla spends her time relaxing at the beach, watching classic films, reading fantasy novels, and working out. She is super excited to soak up the sunshine and see everyone at SUNMUN!!
Ella Monck
Director of PR and Marketing
previously:
Staffer, SunMUN II
Hazel Parent (she/her) is a second-year Biochemistry major with a minor in Health Disparities in Society, planning to get an MD/PhD. She has been involved with UF Model UN since her freshman year, and competed on the Florida circuit throughout high school. She has helped in staffing GatorMUN and SunMUN, along with competing in conferences as a crisis delegate.
Outside of Model UN, she spends much of her time working as a lab manager and researcher at her RNA-research lab under the UF College of Medicine. She is also an ambassador for the Center of Undergraduate Board of Students (CURBS), where she works to connect other undergraduates to research. In her free time, she can be found stressing about exams, listening to loud music, or binge-watching mediocre Netflix shows. She is super excited to be a part of SunMUN III and to see everyone in Orlando!
Tessa Jones (she/her) is a second-year majoring in History and International Studies planning to become involved in non profit work. After moving from Texas to become a gator she quickly became involved with Model UN and fell in love with larping. Tessa now travels as a crisis delegate and has attended 5 conferences in the past year. In addition to competing, last year she chaired for GatorMUN and served as a Crisis Coordinator for SunMUN II. This year along with her administrative role in SunMUN, Tessa will be directing a historical crisis committee for GatorMUN XXII.
Apart from MUN, Tessa spent her summer working as a camp counselor at Camp Walt Whitman in Piermont, New Hampshire and interning remotely for the Active Learning Project, researching urban greenspace mapping, policy, and biodiversity. In her free time Tessa can most likely be found relaxing, whether it be hammocking around campus while reading and listening to dream pop or watching movies. She is ecstatic to be a part of the amazing team that makes SunMUN a reality!
Ella Monck (she/her) is a second year majoring in Dance and Theater Production with a specialization in sound design at the University of Florida. She has competed on the college circuit since her freshman year, co-chaired and chaired conferences at UF including GatorMUN and SUNMUN, and co-directed committees for SUNMUN. Ella also gained ModelUN experience from her two years of competing on the high school circuit at Gainesville High School.
Apart from ModelUN, Ella spent her summer in The Republic of Ireland in Galway and Gweedore participating in service learning, doing research about community development and Family Youth Sciences. In her free time, Ella can be found at the beach or in nature, making new playlists on spotify, or hanging out with all her amazing friends and coworkers. She is beyond excited to see you all in Orlando and help make SUNMUN III the best one yet!
